description Whether you are looking for a few hours of tranquil paddling, or a full-day expedition and overnight experience, you'll find it at Janes Island State Park. This park is surrounded by Chesapeake Bay waters and features rental cabins, pavilions, campsites and a conference center. More than 30 miles of water trails dissect a 2,900 acre Chesapeake Bay salt marsh island, a natural paradise with few signs of civilization. Limitless vistas over shallow bays, marshes and low vegetation impart a sense of space and solitude. Most of the waterways are protected from wind and current, providing ideal conditions for the novice as well as the experienced paddler. Janes Island offers a tranquil paradise. Anglers enjoy easy access to the Bay and fish for striped bass, spot, croaker, flounder and bluefish. A family favorite at Janes Island is crabbing-- where you quickly learn why Maryland is for Crabs!!
drivingDirection Take US 13 S to MD Route 413. Take 413 south for about 12 miles, take a right onto Plantation Road, then continue one mile to park entrance.
